Creating a quick email challenge/course related to the book could be a good idea too. Promote the free challenge/course, and promote the book during/after the sequence is done.
I would also suggest - if anyone has the time or wants to learn it - to leverage Meta ads. They are extremely cheap and well done can bring awareness to your books for a really low price per mille. Then again, these don't guarantee sales but will bring awareness, which is important for newcomers (and extremely powerful for experienced/best seller writers).
I didn’t suggest ads only because I get so much hate from my ads. I’ve run them with my faith based devotionals and Meta almost always posts them to non-religious people’s profiles. And then the comments and angry emoji’s flow. Maybe I could try my writing books though.
I get you. It's a common thing in meta ads, unfortunately. I've seen ran ads for baby care products and they got hate or angry comments, which is crazy.
I don't know how detailed was your ads setup - demographics, tastes, likes, location targetting, etc. - so I can't really comment on that however, one thing I know: a good paid media specialist can do wonders in getting your message to the right people.
Targeting is super important to avoid a wave of angry people - and yet again, as I mentioned before, you can still get hate due to the "organic" push the content gets after a paid boost - and, at the same time, not waste time reaching people that weren't ever going to enjoy your content.
Yeah, my suggestion would be to try it with more generalist type of books. And go really in detail with the targetting in the ads to avoid reach the "wrong" audience.
Some good tips and a good reminder as well to be constantly promoting my books. I do have a link in my email signature but I am not actively promoting all my books all the time. Thanks J.R.
Yes, I wouldn’t say I promote all of them all the time. Like this month, I decided to reduce price on all my books to jumpstart some sales, but normally I pick a few I will focus on and then rotate the other in the following month.
Thank you. My main take away was just to do more in general on promoting my books. I reduce the price every now again and do a little push but I'm not putting enough effort in.
I'm considering your offer to promote with your newsletter. Is that a one time offer or subscription? Thanks for the suggestions and encouragement to be consistent.

That’s a great idea! I’ll have to kick it around a little bit to see how I might use that option!
Great tips! Archiving this so I can look back on it. Thanks J.R.!
Awesome! Glad to hear it!

I might need to go this route and find someone to do it.

I'm gonna try some of these tips to sell my books on Gumroad because sales have been very slow lately.
I really appreciate the simple, straightforward approaches here! And none of them feel icky or cheap. Thank you!
