SPW #11: Struggling
Every creator hits seasons of struggle. I think I’m there. Here’s what I’m doing to get out.
This summer has been a struggle.
It has been a struggle to be consistent. It has been a struggle to stay focused. And it has been a struggle to meet the goals and dreams I had for my writing.
What I am learning however has been great.
First, this isn’t the first time this happened and it won’t be the last. So, I need to embrace this struggle. Like all creators, authors, and entrepreneur’s do. Once I embrace it, I can move forward. So, that’s what I have done. Here is a little more about what I have learned about seasons of struggle.
Second, there are always lessons to be learned in the struggle. Over the years I have gone into seasons of struggle and come out of them stronger. I have done this by implementing mindsets of learning from the struggles. I share more about that in this new post on Medium.
If you are in a season of struggle, here are three things I want you to do right now:
Take one deep breath and remind yourself this is temporary.
Write down one thing you’re grateful for today—no matter how small.
Text someone you trust and tell them you’re having a hard day.
Once you have done this, let’s move onto the next thing below…
The Polls
My summer has been a struggle, but I would love to hear how your’s is going. Share with the poll and if you are comfortable, leave a comment on the post!
7-Day Mini Book Challenge
The 7-Day Mini Book Challenge has been live for about a month and loads of people have jumped on board to get their mini book created and published. If you want a quick win, this might be the thing for you:
The 7-Day Mini Book Challenge.
With the challenge, I share how you can go from idea to income in just seven days. And what is really fun is that this mini-book followed this strategy and it has sold every day since I launched it.
I’d encourage you to check it out and give it a try!
*If you have already started it (or finished it for that matter), share you experience in the comments below or even share your mini book so I can share it in the next Self-Publishing Weekly post!*

Hi everyone
I am new to this mini author community (besides Jack, no one here really knows me yet), so I wanted to briefly introduce myself and share what I have been working on.
On 19 June, I had a really insightful call with Jack that helped me see that I already had my idea and most of the content for a mini book. What I really needed was to finish it.
So I did.
It is still a little raw and will need more polish before it is ready for something like Amazon. (I used a simple template for the cover, and I am still editing as I go.)
But it feels good to finally put it out there.
I have pitched it to my LinkedIn network, and I will be sending it out free to everyone on my waiting list to get feedback before refining it and publishing again. (Tick more boxes on checklist)
If anyone here would also like to get a copy and share your thoughts, you are more than welcome to join the list. Let me know if I can drop a link here or you find on my LinkedIn profile.
I am also working on completing my Substack set up soon.
Really happy to be part of this community and I look forward to getting to know more of you along the way.
Hope the summer struggle gets better,, Beau :)
