Great post! Love the "start simple, grow later" advice. Exactly what I needed to hear as a new newsletter creator. And that one-sentence lesson idea is pure gold. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you! Sometimes the best lessons are the simple ones that we have learned but others need to hear!

Second, I love that simple start example, going to share this in my newsletter.

Thanks! I really wanted to do justice how easy it is to start or jumpstart a newsletter!

This is encouraging to me. I read the simple sample post and thought, "who would want to read that from me?" But this tells me that there are people who want to read even simple updates about what you're reading these days. Thanks for the inspiration!

Excellent article and simple advice!

Jamie influenced me to start my minimalist newsletter too, and it's been the best decision ever. Mine is similar to his in that it just has a couple of links. But, I also like the newsletters like yours that have a little bit of content, plus a couple of links.

There's so many ways to run a newsletter - and still keep it simple!

I heard it said yesterday that the optimum publishing schedule in once a week as this does not spam peoples emails and they unsubscribe. You however have created something that goes against that idea and so has many others Ryan Holiday being one. So I am not thinking that the important factor is to state how many emails you are going to send at the beginning and stick to that. What do you think?
