Do You Think You Have What It Takes To Become A Bestselling Author?
Most don't, but it's only because of one thing.
I remember what it was like seeing that #1 Bestseller Tag on Amazon for the first time.
I was over the moon! It was so exciting, and deep down, it validated how I felt about my book and the hard work I had put into it. It was one of several tags I saw that day: #1 New Release, bestseller, and then #1.
So many people dream of writing a book, but they never actually do so because of a lack of knowledge, perceived time restrictions, or fear.
And then, when they share with people that they are writers but don’t have a book, it all feels different. People change the subject or ask what that means. Most people only associate ‘writers’ with books.
But, when you can write a bestselling book, that changes everything. People are interested. They want to know how you did it. And what are you going to write next? Most of all, they want to support you.
What does this all have to do with being a bestseller?
What it means is that your dream of writing a book is good. But upgrading that dream is better. And it doesn’t take much extra work to do it. You need to put in the effort, research, and get some help to make it happen.
I have spoken with writers who have great ideas and probably good books, but their covers, titles, and Amazon book pages stink.
It’s kind of like people who like their beat-up old Toyota, and then when it gets into an accident, and they find out it's totaled because the car isn’t worth anything, they say, “But it runs great, and I have taken care of it mechanically.”
That might be true, but no one else thinks that based on how it looks. And how it looks is how you sell a car or anything else. And if you want to be a bestseller as an author, you need to dial these things in.
And you need help from someone who has already done it.
You are in luck because I can help.

My name is J.R. Heimbigner, and I am a #1 Bestselling Author on Amazon with 15 self-published books. I have two things I want to share with you:
A short book to help you write books with your Substack posts called Substack Books.
Book Promotion Page on my Gumroad Store. You will find my Self-Publishing Cheatsheets and my book promotion service.
Also, this post may contain sales or affiliate links, so I might get a little kickback if you purchase anything. Thank you in advance!
Making sure your forward facing content is in tip of top shape makes a huge difference!
Plus marketing it, if people aren't reading it, they aren't finishing it.
If they aren't finishing it, they probably aren't making any changes.
If they aren't making any changes is your book having an impact?
That is the question.
My how-to Turning Memories Into Memoirs / A handbook for Writing Lifestories has sold more than 35,000 copies. (I lose the exact number because of the ebooks which are harder to count.)
For me that was a best seller. Not Stephen King numbers but since it is independently published, it has supported me. The profit was sometimes everything after the printing cost and sometimes as low as 50% of the post printing cost. Not bad. If I estimate the earning at a low figure of only $10 per book (but sometimes as high as $20), I am satisfied with my returns.
This is my best seller.
