If you’ve been in the creator economy for any amount of time, you’ve probably heard of Gumroad — the go-to platform for indie authors, artists, and digital product sellers.
I recently discovered your StanStore website and I was wondering what this platform actually is as I haven´t heard about it. This post came right to me. Now I will put it on the list for platforms I might want to use later instead of Gumroad.
This is very helpful @jrheimbigner. The stan.store website offers zero information about what's there & what's not, not even any pricing - seems like the only thing a visitor can do is sign up for a trial. Yeah, nah. I'll tool over to your linked post & check that out too!
True. But that’s where I was getting hit hard on fees. If I dropped the fee amount down, no sales. It seemed like 30% or higher was the only way they were going to share.
The Gumroad fees are quite steep as it is more than just that. I remember someone from Australia bought my $37 course on Gumroad which costs FX fees twice for her and then also for me so not much was left as profit.
I’ll add that if you are in a region that doesn’t support Stripe (like India) then Gumroad is the only option of the two available. I didn’t realise Substack only supported Stripe till I tried to set up my publication. 🥹
I already made a Stan store and have been working on developing it to support my substack. I just cannot afford the $29 per month on top of already paying for canva and a few substacks. 😟 That’s why gumroad is fine for bow. Hopefully I will soon get some paid subs here and I can invest more in Stan store. I’d love any feedback if you have the time https://stan.store/chicachiflada

Oh! Interesting, you can check out more info by simply going to Stan.store and clicking on the pricing tab. It shows pricing and features.
Well compared! There is one thing on Gumroad we shouldn‘t forget - and not much to expect from - it‘s also a marketplace.

Looking good in that store!
I like it, so simple and clean!

Oh that’s good to know. I didn’t realize that, but that would make sense to choose Gumroad over Stan.
For sure! That’s how I got started with it was seeing someone else share their experience and then I checked it out and decided to give it a try.
Thank you. I see there is so much to learn!🌹
